A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine has found that people with sleep apnea had 14% less maximum oxygen in a fitness test than people that didn't have sleep apnea.
The researchers also found that people with sleep apnea are more likely to be overweight or obese, and thus less fit, and that that people with sleep apnea had poorer aerobic fitness than those in the comparison group, even if they were the same body size.
So What can you do?
The first thing is to lose weight, it has been found that people with sleep apnea who have lost weight have also started sleeping better.  The catch to this is that people who sleep less are more prone to be overweight.  One of the tricks is to try to get more sleep, and to get to sleep without alcohol or sedatives.
If you have sleep apnea try clearing out the sinuses!  One of the great products we have is called Xclear which has a xylitol base. This clears up often chronic infections in the sinuses and helps you breathe better at night.. Therefore you get a better sleep... and you might lose weight!!
